33-year-old Isak Öhrström has advanced to the next round in the new Olympic Games event, kayak cross. In the qualifying heat against Italian Giovanni de Gennaro and Dutchman Joris Otten, Öhrström finished second.
Isak Öhrström from Umeå is ranked 28th in the world.
The next round will take place on Sunday and the final will be decided on Monday.
Öhrström earlier in the week advanced to the final in canoe slalom, where he finished in 12th place.
