Andreas Kramer continues to show top form ahead of the summer's Olympic Games.
On Thursday, the 27-year-old pulled off a superb race at a meeting in Polish Bydgoszcz, beating his Swedish record on 800 metres by 39 hundredths. The new record now stands at 1:44.08.
As recently as Sunday, Kramer won the 800-metre race at the Grand Prix meeting in Sollentuna in a time of 1:45.61, and on Tuesday he finished in a fine 1:44.65 in a meeting in Finland.
In Poland on Thursday, Kramer was third after 400 metres. With 200 metres left to run, he advanced to second place and on the home straight, he sprinted past Algerian Mohamed Ali Gouaned.
The Olympic Games in Paris get underway in earnest on 26 July.
