Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M) called for fighting for Swedish freedom in his speech on National Day. Social Democratic Party leader Magdalena Andersson also did so.

Kristersson spoke about the importance of freedom and emphasized that we are currently living in a turbulent world, with Russia's invasion of Ukraine in mind, as well as terrorism and crime.

He emphasized the importance of standing united and fighting for Sweden's freedom.

According to the prime minister, Swedes have a lot to be proud of and he expressed great optimism about the future.

Opposition leader Magdalena Andersson (S) held her own speech in Orminge, Nacka municipality. The S-party leader also spoke about Russia's invasion of Ukraine, "decisive times" and the fight for freedom – with an emphasis on democracy and the advancement of authoritarian powers.
