Princess Märtha Louise's gin breaks against Norway's ban on alcohol advertising, reports news agency NTB.

The monogram on the label is illegal. The reason is that it can give associations to other goods and services, says Vinmonopolet, the country's equivalent to Systembolaget.

The gin is launched ahead of Märtha Louise's wedding to shaman and businessman Durek Verrett in August. The distributor has now decided to change the label and remove the monogram, which according to the couple symbolizes Egyptian hieroglyphs and symbols.

Even Märtha Louise's princess title, which has been on the label, is removed since it breaks against the Norwegian royal court's guidelines.

All sales of the product have been stopped until the label is changed, which according to NRK is believed to happen already this weekend.
