A lay judge in Malmö District Court is being prosecuted for having defrauded himself to compensation for his assignments in the court. According to the prosecution, false certificates were used to give the impression of a lost income of a few hundred thousand kronor, reports SVT News Skåne.
The lay judge is being prosecuted for gross fraud and forgery. The prosecution also includes gross accounting fraud. In total, the lay judge is being claimed 1.2 million kronor, including corporate fines.
