It's been three weeks since Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard (M) was subjected to a tomato attack in the Riksdag chamber, and since then, the security work has been intensified.

During Friday's debate, initiated by the Left Party, she was back in place.

I always expect to feel safe in the Riksdag chamber, which is the heart of democracy and where we must be able to conduct an undisturbed democratic debate, she says after the debate, which this time went calmly.

According to guards on site, there has been "more of everything" when it comes to security since the attack. One measure has been to set up a net at the spectator gallery.

During Friday's debate, the police reinforced the security work. The police, for example, have more far-reaching opportunities to search spectators than the Riksdag's security guards have.

According to information from TT, the tomato attack has led to the Riksdag generally working much closer with the police. Next year, the security measures will also be further tightened and become "even stricter" according to a source, who does not want to go into exact details.
