A man was stabbed during Saturday evening in a villa area in Billdal, just south of Gothenburg. The man who was later taken in for questioning has now been arrested, suspected of attempted murder.
The incident occurred at around 5 pm on Saturday. Following tips from the public, several identity checks were carried out in the area, and a man in his 30s caught the police's attention.
He was taken in for questioning and the prosecutor has decided to arrest the person, says August Brandt, the police's press spokesperson in Region West.
The victim, also in his 30s, was taken to Sahlgrenska University Hospital. His injuries are said to be minor, according to the hospital's press office, speaking to Gothenburg-Posten on Saturday.
The motive behind the incident is not known.
It is still unclear. According to initial information, it was an unknown person to the victim. We will investigate whether there is any connection and what it could be, or if it was completely random, says August Brandt.
