A 39-year-old man in Skåne died after the ambulance he alerted refused to take him, reports Skånska Dagbladet.
The man alerted about severe headache, but instead of taking the man to the hospital, the ambulance left the scene. A few hours later, he died.
The incident has now been reported to the Health and Social Care Inspectorate (Ivo) by the company itself according to the Lex Maria regulations and is under investigation.
The man had undergone an endoscopy earlier in the day and the ambulance therefore received a priority 1 alarm.
When they arrived at the man's home, he was lying on the floor in pain, but despite this, the ambulance personnel did not think the man needed care. Instead, they assumed that the pain was due to the operation earlier in the day and that the man had been fasting during the examination.
A few hours later, the man's partner found him dead from a cerebral hemorrhage.
