On Thursday, the mediators will submit their proposal to the parties in the ongoing healthcare conflict. By Friday at 13:00, the parties must respond to the proposal.

The Swedish Association of Health Professionals announces that they will analyse the mediators' proposal within the Sobona agreement area on Thursday and make a decision at the earliest on Friday morning.

"We have not been involved in the preparation of the proposal and do not know what it contains. We will take the time to analyse the proposal from that perspective," says Sineva Ribeiro, chairperson of the Swedish Association of Health Professionals, in a press release.

The deadline for responding to the proposal is set for 13:00 on Friday, according to mediator Gunilla Runnquist for TT.

Formally, the proposal only applies to the Sobona agreement area (the municipal companies' employer party), but according to the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions (SALAR), the parties on the employer side are working together to reach an agreement.

The conflict between the union and the employer has been ongoing since 25 April. The Swedish Association of Health Professionals believes that the workload is unsustainable and wants, among other things, to see a reduction in working hours. From the employer's side, they argue that it is not possible to reduce working hours given the tough economic situation.

Since 4 June, a strike has been underway in several regions: Stockholm, Västra Götaland, Skåne, Östergötland, and Västerbotten. The strike was extended as recently as Tuesday to more workplaces and an additional region, Värmland.
