New jobs in the USA increased by 206,000 in June, according to new figures from the US Department of Labor. The agricultural sector is not included in the figures.
Unemployment in June simultaneously rose to 4.1 percent, compared to 4.0 percent the previous month.
Job growth was greater than expected. Analysts had on average expected 190,000 new jobs, according to Bloomberg's compilation of forecasts.
In May, job growth was previously measured at 272,000 new jobs, but this figure was now revised down to 218,000 new jobs. Overall, job figures for May and April were revised down by 111,000 jobs.
The average hourly wage increased by 0.3 percent in June compared to the previous month, which was in line with expectations. In May, the increase was 0.4 percent.
The annual wage increase in June fell to 3.9 percent, compared to 4.1 percent in May.
