The Social Democrats propose three billion directed towards investments in more teachers in primary education.

The goal is to finance an additional teacher in each classroom in year one, according to Åsa Westlund (S), education policy spokesperson.

This will contribute to creating order and discipline in the classroom, she says at a press conference in the Riksdag.

She also proposes 200 million kronor for a special investment in language development in preschools and an additional 200 million for a special investment for students with neuropsychiatric disabilities.

According to Westlund and the Social Democrats' economic policy spokesperson Mikael Damberg, who also participates in the press conference, these measures are needed to reduce the risk of children ending up in exclusion and crime.

The proposals are presented ahead of the Social Democrats presenting a budget motion on Friday, i.e. the so-called shadow budget, which is the party's alternative to the autumn budget that Finance Minister Elisabeth Svantesson (M) submitted to the Riksdag on September 19.
