The service sector is clearly losing momentum. The Purchasing Managers' Index for the private service sector falls to 49.1 in September, from 52.4 in August, according to Swedbank and Silf.

"It is a surprisingly large and broad decline, even though a single month's outcome should not be over-interpreted. A sluggish global economy and the uncertain geopolitical situation may have had a dampening effect on service companies", says Jörgen Kennemar, responsible for the analysis of the Purchasing Managers' Index, in a press release.
