The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) has several incorrect figures in its reporting, which makes the aid efforts appear to have a greater positive effect than was actually the case, according to a report from the Expert Group for Aid Analysis (EBA), as reported by TV4 News.

"For example, an effort in Ethiopia is mentioned where 40,000 jobs were supposed to have been created, when in fact only 4,000 jobs were involved. Another incorrect figure mentioned is that 17,000 jobs in Tanzania were reported as a result, but were actually prognosis figures", writes TV4 News.

The Minister for Development Cooperation, Benjamin Dousa (M), has now tasked Sida with developing an action plan to address the shortcomings.

This is serious, he says about the incident.
