At least 19 people have been killed in clashes between two rival drug cartels in the state of Chiapas in southern Mexico.
16 men were found shot in a truck and another three were found outside the vehicle, according to the country's authorities.
The incident occurred in the municipality of La Concordia, near the border with Guatemala, where violence has increased in recent years.
According to a preliminary investigation, it is about struggles between one of Mexico's most powerful cartels, Sinaloa, and another gang known as the Chiapas and Guatemala cartel. According to Mexican authorities, the two are fighting for control of the border area.
The drug-related violence in Mexico has claimed over 450,000 lives since former President Felipe Calderon launched a military offensive against drug cartels in the country in 2006.
