Zigmunds Jansons is dead. The Swedish national team captain in wrestling, for the men's team in Greco-Roman style, was 52 years old.
"Zigmunds was an extremely liked and respected person within Swedish wrestling, both for his achievements as a leader and for his genuine commitment to the sport", writes the Swedish Wrestling Federation in a press release.
The Federation writes further that Jansons worked with the national team in different roles for 15 years and as national team captain since 2017.
"His dedication to wrestling has made a big impact on everyone who has had the privilege of having him as a coach and working together with him."
