The allegations against Marius Borg Høiby now also include murder threats. Norwegian police are investigating suspicions that Borg Høiby threatened to kill another man during a phone call with an ex-girlfriend whom he is suspected of assaulting, according to Dagbladet.

The 27-year-old Borg Høiby, who is the son of Crown Princess Mette-Marit, was initially arrested on August 4 after an incident in an apartment in Oslo. He is accused of, and has admitted to, assaulting his girlfriend and is subject to a restraining order.

Over the weekend, he was arrested again, suspected of violating the restraining order, a crime he denies. He was released again on Saturday.

He is also being investigated for a number of other crimes, including threats, vandalism, theft of an electric scooter, and assault of two previous girlfriends.

In total, four women have allegedly been victims of crimes committed by Borg Høiby. One of them has received threats since the investigation became known, threats that she has now reported to the police. However, the woman's lawyer emphasized over the weekend that Borg Høiby is not suspected of those specific threats.

Marius Borg Høiby has no royal title and has chosen to live his life out of the spotlight. He is Mette-Marit's son from a previous relationship and has stated in a written statement to the press that he has problems with drugs and alcohol.

At the end of August, he traveled to Italy on the advice of his defense attorney.
