The Government wants to map out the values of newcomers in an annual integration barometer. Two million kronor have been allocated in the budget, writes Aftonbladet.

The purpose is to identify what deviates from "liberal democratic values", says Minister for Integration Mats Persson.

In Sweden, we are proud of women's rights. Or the view on homosexuals. It has been a struggle, but now we see tendencies towards forces that want to counteract it. Then we also need to get a picture of what reality looks like, he says to the newspaper.

The idea is that those who answer the questions in the survey should be anonymous and the answers should therefore not be able to be linked to individual individuals.

It has not yet been decided which authority will carry out the mapping work, which is to begin next year.
