North Korea continues to send trash balloons over the border to South Korea.
It is reported that around 310 balloons have been sent since Sunday evening. They contained plastic and paper waste, but no hazardous substances were found, according to the South Korean military.
The propaganda war between North and South Korea has escalated in recent weeks. On Sunday, the Seoul government stated that the balloon attacks will be responded to with new loudspeakers that broadcast propaganda across the border.
On Thursday, a South Korean activist group claimed that ten large balloons were sent over the closed country filled with USB sticks containing K-pop songs and 200,000 leaflets with a message against dictator Kim Jong-Un.
The Seoul government places the responsibility for the escalation entirely on North Korea, which in turn has called the loudspeaker response a "prelude to a very dangerous situation".
