The former gang leader from the feared M-faction in Malmö smuggled in five kilos of cocaine into Sweden for a criminal network.

He stored, transported, and handed over the drugs further.

Now, the 41-year-old is sentenced to six and a half years in prison for gross drug smuggling.

The man had previously held a leading position in the former criminal network M-faction, which for many years was in a bloody conflict with the K-faction in Malmö, resulting in several violent crimes.

The 41-year-old left Sweden in 2015 and was arrested outside Barcelona in Spain in December last year after becoming internationally wanted. He was then brought back to Sweden. The police tracked him down by managing to crack his alias in the encrypted app Encrochat.

The 41-year-old was prosecuted together with a 29-year-old man for handling large quantities of drugs in Sweden in 2020. The 41-year-old is convicted by Malmö District Court for extremely gross drug smuggling, and the 29-year-old is sentenced to two years and three months in prison for drug offenses.

The former gang leader, who is not a Swedish citizen, is deported and is not allowed to return to Sweden before 2039.
