Man sentenced for rape of disabled woman

A man from Örebro County has been sentenced to seven years and eleven months in prison for several serious rapes, local media reports.

The man, who is in his 65, is convicted of raping a woman in her 20s several times and, according to the district court, exploiting her intellectual disability.

He is also convicted of raping another woman who lived in a care facility several years ago.

In addition to imprisonment, the man is to pay damages of 615,000 and 165,000 kronor to the two women. According to the verdict, he exploited the vulnerable situations of both women.
