A powerful fire has broken out in a row house with a total of six apartments in the Bergvik area outside Söderhamn, which Söderhamns-Kuriren was the first to report.
There is a fire in four apartments and we are trying to limit it to them and rescue the other two apartments, says Jimmy Andersson Taylor at the rescue service to TT.
The roof has collapsed, not in the entire building but in parts of it.
A VMA, important message to the public, has been issued to people in the area who are urged to stay away.
The fire was fully developed when the rescue service arrived at the scene and it has also spread to the attic, which is now fully ablaze.
Residents of the fire-damaged row house and an adjacent property of the same size have been evacuated. There are no reports of anyone being injured.
We have a gathering place at a nearby restaurant, there are several actors helping those affected, says Jimmy Andersson Taylor.
The extinguishing work is expected to continue throughout the afternoon and possibly evening.
It is currently unclear what caused the fire. The police are also on site and assisting the rescue service.
