To perform their duties, one in five of the Swedish Armed Forces Union's members claim to have been forced to breach the Swedish Armed Forces' security routines during the past year. This is shown by a recent survey from the trade union.

The reason is the tense global situation, reports SVT News.

Our employees should not have to deviate from security rules and security routines, but we are demanding a lot from our organization and our personnel right now, says Michael Cherinet, the Swedish Armed Forces' exercise and training chief, to the channel.

The survey also shows that 12 percent of the respondents have been involved in an incident that could have caused personal injury or death during the past year.

According to the Swedish Armed Forces Union's chairman Stefan Morin, the survey reflects a personnel situation with "many vacancies and a very high operational pressure".

The survey was conducted by Novus and has been answered by 4,596 members.
