Police profiler Viktor Adolphson, known as YB Södermalm, writes about Friday's event on the platform X :

"A woman visiting the Royal Palace's halls suddenly slipped past guards and barriers and sat down in the silver throne. Unfortunately, the throne from the 1600s was also damaged during the incident."

The woman is now suspected of vandalism and violating the protection law.

According to the Royal House's information manager Margareta Thorgren, there are no signs that the silver throne was damaged.

During an initial inspection of the throne itself, no damage can be seen. We are incredibly grateful for that, as this is a truly fine cultural heritage, she tells Expressen.

Queen Christina's silver throne was manufactured for her coronation in 1650 and has since been used by kings and queens on solemn occasions. The last time was in 1974 when the Riksdag's solemn opening was held in the Rikssalen at the palace.
