Hezbollah and Israel have again fired at each other. At the same time, the Lebanese Shia militia is warning Israel against starting a war.

Rockets fired from Lebanon have caused several fires in northern Israel, report Israeli media.

A total of 55 projectiles are said to have been fired towards Galilee in northern Israel on Saturday morning. Some of the Hezbollah rockets were shot down, while others landed in uninhabited areas, writes Israeli Haaretz.

No personal injuries have been reported.

Israel has responded by sending up fighter jets that, among other things, attacked the locations in Lebanon from which the rockets were fired and have also shelled several other areas in southern Lebanon with artillery fire.

Later on Saturday, Hezbollah warned Israel that a war would entail significant losses on both sides.

We have no intention of starting a war, we see no point in it. But if Israel initiates a war, we will respond, says Naim Qassem, the second-in-command of the Shia militia in Lebanon.

If they think that such a war would allow the 100,000 who were displaced (from northern Israel) to return, we must issue a warning: prepare for hundreds of thousands more to be displaced.

The statement is a response to Israel's Defense Minister Yoav Gallanti, who said last week that the country's goal was to restore security along the border with Lebanon.

Since the war in Gaza broke out in October – following a large-scale terrorist attack by Hamas, labeled as a terrorist organization, against Israel – Israel and the Lebanese Shia militia Hezbollah have been attacking each other on a daily basis across the border.
