Russia claims to have shot down 33 drones during the night over the annexed Crimean Peninsula. The country is also said to have destroyed ten underwater drones, writes the Russian Defense Ministry on Telegram.
The governor of Sevastopol said earlier on Thursday that the loud noises heard in the city were related to the Russian army's response to a drone attack.
Two drones were also shot down over the Bryansk region in western Russia.
"There were no fatalities or injuries," writes Governor Alexander Bogomaz on Telegram.
As recently as last month, four people were killed and over 150 injured in a drone attack on the annexed Crimean Peninsula. Russia accuses Ukraine of the deadly attack.
Both sides have used drones extensively throughout the conflict.
