Millions are rolling in when Patric Åslund rolls out.

But Västerås will miss its central midfielder.

In the last match with the team, the 21-year-old was behind three heavy points in the bottom match against Kalmar FF, 4–0 in the end.

This was Västerås' second win of the season and gave three very valuable points in the newcomer's struggle to get out of the relegation zone in the Allsvenskan football league.

The continued hunt upwards in the table will, however, continue without one of the team's best players. Already before the season started, it was decided that midfielder Patric Åslund would join Djurgården in the summer. According to Aftonbladet, Stockholm's team values the 21-year-old midfielder at around 10 million kronor and Sunday's away match against Kalmar was his last for the time being in the VSK jersey.

He had laid the foundation for the away win in the 16th minute. Simon Johansson stood for a commendable build-up on the right in the penalty area and found a gap between a couple of KFF defenders, chipping the ball towards goal – where Åslund looked up and nodded in 1–0 for Västerås.

Kalmar FF, the second-to-last team, does not radiate confidence at the moment and Västerås took advantage of this after halftime.

Mattéo Ahlinvi was substituted in the second half and barely 20 minutes later, he had sealed the match.

First, he headed in 2–0 – Simon Johansson stood for a nearly identical pass as at the first goal – and about an hour into the match, Ahlinvi also scored 3–0 on a volley.

In the final minutes, Patric Åslund then ended his VSK journey by cleverly setting up Henry Offia, who rolled in 4–0 for Västerås.

VSK is still a relegation candidate but is getting closer to the teams ahead. Up to Kalmar, it's two points and to IFK Norrköping, another point. To IFK Göteborg, the last team on safe ground, it's six points.
