Sweden's men's national football team fell 1-2 on Wednesday evening away to Denmark in the third training match under new coach Jon Dahl Tomasson.
With the regular left back Ludwig Augustinsson unavailable – the family is expecting an addition – Tomasson chose to place Jens Cajuste as an outer back on that side.
A unusual position for the Napoli player, but his instructions were clear: when Sweden had possession, the 24-year-old was free to move offensively centrally in the midfield.
The center-backs Victor Nilsson Lindelöf and Isak Hien had no problem with a new defensive colleague who had the task of sneaking into the midfield.
Even the forward Alexander Isak liked the setup with Cajuste's new role.
In the second half, Sweden was forced to make an early change in the backline. Hjalmar Ekdal, who replaced Nilsson Lindelöf, injured his calf after just a few minutes on the pitch and was substituted in the 54th minute for Carl Starfelt. Ekdal will be examined on Thursday.
Sweden will face Serbia in a training match on Saturday at Friends Arena in Solna.
