Spain's Marc Cucurella was heavily criticized by the English former national team player Gary Neville.
Then the defender responded to the criticism after the gold.
"Thanks for your support", he writes on his Instagram.
"I think he (Marc Cucurella) is one of the reasons why Spain probably won't go all the way."

And after the final, Cucurella took the opportunity to respond to the Englishman's criticism via social media.
"We went all the way, Gary. Thanks for your support", he wrote on Instagram, accompanied by a heart and a kissing emoji.
Cucurella has occasionally been booed after Germany's elimination in the quarterfinals, where the 25-year-old was involved in a controversial handball situation.
