Air raid sirens sounded across the country on Tuesday evening when Iran carried out a comprehensive missile attack on Israel. At 19:30, Swedish time, Israel's military announced that people could leave the shelters.

Double the number of missiles
Around 180 missiles were fired by Iran at Israeli territory, most of which were shot down by Israel, according to the military. It was double the number compared to Iran's last attack in April, according to the Pentagon.

Before the attack, Israel's army announced that the country was ready to "defend and attack".
Previous attack
Iran has previously said that Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah's death would lead to "Israel's destruction". However, on Monday, Iran's Foreign Ministry stated that the country would not send soldiers to fight against Israel.
