The Court of Appeal has increased the sentences for four individuals who were convicted of kidnapping and torturing three teenage boys in Sundsvall last summer.

A 24-year-old man who was previously sentenced to 14 years' imprisonment for, among other things, attempted murder and aggravated assault has had his sentence extended to 16 years.

The Court of Appeal has also convicted another person, who was previously acquitted, of aiding and abetting unlawful deprivation of liberty for acting as a driver.

For four individuals, the Court of Appeal has reduced their sentences as it has made different conclusions about their involvement.

The Court of Appeal has upheld the verdicts for one person who was acquitted, as well as two individuals who were acquitted of violent crimes but were convicted of other offences.

It was on 9 July that three teenage boys were found severely assaulted with knife and burn injuries in Skönsmon and Sidsjön in Sundsvall.

According to the indictment, the boys had travelled to Sundsvall to murder a man on behalf of the criminal Foxtrot network, but were themselves attacked.
