Three people who were reasonably suspected of the murders of two Britons have now been released, says prosecutor Magnus Pettersson to TT. No suspicions have been dropped at this stage, he says.

On Monday, a person was arrested for the murders of two British men who were found in a burned-out car in Malmö. The person was reasonably suspected of murder, which is the lower degree of suspicion.

The person was released on Wednesday afternoon, says Pettersson.

At the same time, two more people were arrested. They were arrested later on Wednesday as reasonably suspected of the murders, but have now also been released.

It's the same thing here. No suspicions have been dropped, but currently, I don't think there's reason to detain any of them.

Pettersson says that the picture of what happened has become clearer – despite the recent arrests not leading to any detentions.

We're going through what the past week has given us. The analysis, digital evidence, and technical investigations are still ongoing.

Every piece of the puzzle that's added to the whole makes the picture of what happened, and why it happened, clearer.

One person has already been detained for aiding and abetting the murders.

It was on July 14 this year that two people were found dead in a burned-out car in an industrial area in Malmö. Shortly afterwards, two British nationals were reported missing in Sweden.
