Norway's Crown Prince Haakon says that the circumstances surrounding his wife's son, Marius Borg Høiby, are "demanding".
There has been a lot of turmoil surrounding Borg Høiby, who is suspected of several crimes, including assaulting a former girlfriend. The Norwegian royal family has been tight-lipped about the events – until now.
I understand that there are many questions about this. It is, of course, as you surely understand, a demanding situation, says the Crown Prince to NRK.
However, he is tight-lipped about the investigation.
There is an ongoing police investigation, and I don't think it's right to say too much about individual aspects of it.
At the same time, it's like the king said, that we as a family are trying to take care of each other. And besides, we are busy doing our job, says Crown Prince Haakon.
Marius Borg Høiby, son of Crown Princess Mette-Marit, was arrested in August but later released. He has admitted to using violence against his former girlfriend and stated that he had used alcohol and cocaine at the time. Since then, several allegations of violence against ex-girlfriends have emerged.
