Can it become a summer-OS in Copenhagen in the future? At least Copenhagen Municipality wants to investigate if it's possible. Half a million Danish kronor is allocated in the capital's budget for next year to conduct an investigation into the possibilities of getting the OS and to make a real bid to arrange the Youth OS in the future.
"My vision is to have the smallest and most sustainable OS ever", says Mia Nyegaard, Culture and Leisure Mayor of Copenhagen in a press release.
A summer-OS in Copenhagen can at the earliest become 2036. The two upcoming games will be held in Los Angeles (2028) and Brisbane (2032). A Danish Youth OS can be talked about in 2030. The upcoming Youth OS will be held in Dakar, Senegal, in two years.
