The Swiss cyclist Muriel Furrer was severely injured in a crash during the World Championship in Zürich.
The 18-year-old participated in the road race for juniors. She suffered a severe head injury in the crash and was taken to hospital by helicopter.
The condition is very critical, according to the International Cycling Federation (UCI).
How the accident occurred is not yet clear, but it was raining and the road was wet.
