The review is being conducted against the backdrop of the risk of fraud when companies have the opportunity to choose their own administrators, and then submit so-called creditor proposals.

"The background is that the number of creditor proposals has increased significantly in recent years and there may be risks associated with the proposals," the authority writes in a letter dated September 9, which Di has taken part of.

In a report from 2022, the National Audit Office highlighted that the option to choose is a risk factor for fraud. The Enforcement Authority is conducting its special review between September 1 and December 31 this year, according to DI.

We will inform about the review in December, but the overall result will be presented for the first time in February, says Rebecca Jidah, who is leading the work together with two other colleagues at the Enforcement Authority.

The number of bankruptcies in Sweden increased by 11 percent in September compared to the same period last year, according to the credit information company UC.
