The defense company Saab reports an operating profit of almost 1.2 billion kronor for the third quarter of the year. This is an increase of 38 percent compared to the same period last year.

The order intake for the third quarter increased by 41 percent and amounted to almost 21.2 billion kronor. Revenues rose by 2 billion to 13.5 billion kronor "with growth in all business areas".

Profitability increased, measured as operating margin, to 8.8 percent, up from 7.5 percent in the same quarter last year.

"We see continued increased demand as European countries have a need to rebuild their stockpiles of defense equipment, which will require efforts over a long period of time going forward. This is reflected in our strong order intake for the quarter", the company writes in the report.

The management is sticking to its previously announced full-year forecast for 2024 of increased sales and profit.
