Everton is struggling in the English Premier League. Now they have got new owners. The Friedkin group has bought the club, writes Everton on its website.
"We are pleased to have reached an agreement to take over this iconic football club", says a spokesperson for the Texas-based Friedkin group.
Previously, they owned the Italian giant club Roma. The Everton they have bought has been struggling in the Premier League. After five rounds, the team is in the relegation zone and has only taken one point.
Everton is now playing its last season at the classic arena Goodison Park before moving to the new Everton Stadium.
The purchase must be approved before it becomes fully official.
