It has been several days since Donald Trump's ear was injured when a young man tried to shoot him at a campaign meeting. But the lid is on from his campaign staff regarding the extent of the injury, what treatment the former president received, and any potential consequences.
Trump himself has been present at the Republican convention, clearly visible in the audience with a bandage on part of his right ear. However, apart from what Trump and parts of his family have said, no medical statements have been made public or comments made by the staff, apart from an initial brief one after the shots. Then the message was that Trump was okay and that he received care.
A few hours later, Trump made a statement saying that a bullet had hit the upper part of his ear.
His son Eric Trump said, in an interview with the TV channel CBS on Wednesday, that his father has a flesh wound but no stitches.
