Last Friday, the board of Kombispel was dismissed after Dagens Nyheter revealed that the company had hired a firm in Barcelona that used unfair sales methods, targeting the elderly.
Jonas Nygren (S), former chairman of the municipal council in Sundbyberg and federation chief at the Tenants' Association, is now taking over as CEO of the lottery corporation.
For the time being, we are reviewing all routines and all tasks that come in and see if there are any deficiencies and errors, says Nygren to TT.
But if the previous board was dismissed due to a lack of trust, didn't there have to be deficiencies?
As for what is currently relevant, there was a comment that came in where we took action. Now we're doing our best to work proactively to see if there's anything else that needs to be clarified or where we need to develop our working methods.
"Not off the cuff"
The Social Democrats also announced on Friday that they are stopping telemarketing. It is not currently planned to have telephone sales within Kombispel, according to Nygren, who says that a large part of the business involves keeping existing customers.
Will you be calling existing customers?
I can't quite answer that. We've said we don't work with telemarketing.
But can't you answer whether you'll be calling existing customers?
Not off the cuff.

Do you need to hire people now to get a sales organization up and running?
I can't answer that either. We'll think about what we need to do in the short and long term.
How much revenue will you lose by stopping telephone sales?
It's impossible to answer that. We'll do our best to have as many satisfied customers as possible going forward.
"Have a routine"
Now that telephone sales are being discontinued, Kombispel will continue to develop new methods for selling lottery tickets – for example, online and through advertising.
If someone is dissatisfied and wants their money back, can they get it directly through Kombispel's customer service?
It depends on the case. It's hard to answer generally. If there has been a deficiency that breaks with how it should be, then the money is refunded. It has happened in individual cases.
Will you be contacting customers and offering them to terminate a subscription?
We have a routine that means you can call us and if you're not satisfied, we'll help and try to find a solution that both parties are satisfied with.
