August 6: Crown Princess Mette-Marit's son Marius Borg Høiby is arrested, suspected of assaulting a woman he has a relationship with. Mette-Marit cancels her trip to the Olympic Games in Paris.

August 14: Marius Borg Høiby admits in a statement to NRK that he has used violence against his girlfriend and wants to take responsibility for his actions.

He says that he had used alcohol and cocaine on the occasion and that he has "struggled with addiction for a longer period, something I have received treatment for before".

August 16: A former girlfriend accuses Høiby of violence in a close relationship during a police interrogation.

August 21: Another former girlfriend comes forward with similar accusations. Høiby is said to have used "physical and psychological violence" against her when they had a relationship.

August 23: Høiby is now also being investigated for threatening a woman over the phone, whom he is suspected of having been violent against.

According to Norwegian TV2, he has been reported to the police for stealing an electric scooter.

September 3: Høiby is banned from contacting the woman he is suspected of having assaulted in August.

His name is removed from several pages on the Norwegian royal family's website.

September 11: Norwegian Se og Hør publishes a leaked audio recording of a conversation between Norwegian police and Borg Høiby from the fall of 2023.

There, a police officer is heard saying that there are "more" who are concerned about Høiby's lifestyle, including his cocaine problem and connections to criminals.

September 13: The police arrest Borg Høiby in a cabin. According to his lawyer Øyvind Bratlien, Borg Høiby is accused of contacting his former girlfriend from a hidden phone number, which he denies.

September 14: Borg Høiby is released. The police confirm that the investigation is expanding and that he is now also suspected of crimes against another person. It is said to involve unlawful threats. "Currently, there are four victims in the case," according to the police.

September 15: One of the women whom Borg Høiby is suspected of having assaulted has been threatened after the investigation became known. She reports the threats to the police, which she does not accuse Høiby of.

September 16: Marius Borg Høiby is also suspected of having threatened to kill another man during a phone call with an ex-girlfriend whom he is suspected of having assaulted.

September 17: A 20-year-old man is arrested by Norwegian police for threatening the woman who reported receiving serious threats.
