Former national police chief Anders Thornberg is continuing to work as governor of Halland despite the criminal suspicions against him.

He does not want to comment on whether he thinks it is suitable or not.

The question should be put to the government, he says to SVT News Halland.

In mid-May, it became known that Anders Thornberg is suspected of causing another person's death following the death of police chief Mats Löfving last year.

Thornberg has previously denied any wrongdoing and now, when he comments publicly on the case for the first time, does not want to say much more.

It is an ongoing investigation, so I have nothing more to add on that matter, he says to SVT in connection with the opening of a playground on Getterön in Varberg.

I have submitted my statement and look forward to this being concluded eventually. But for now, I am here to open this playground, I will gladly answer these questions on another occasion when the investigation has progressed further.
