Three people, including a child, have been killed and another three injured in an Israeli air raid on a village in southern Lebanon on Thursday evening, according to Lebanon's Health Department.
A source close to Hezbollah tells AFP that one of the dead was "a fighter" for the Iran-backed movement, while the other two are referred to as civilians.
Early on Friday morning, Hezbollah announced via Telegram that it had fired a series of rockets in response to the attack.
The Israeli military, IDF, says in a statement that it observed around 20 projectiles fired from Lebanese territory and that none of these caused any significant damage.
Since the Gaza war broke out following Hamas' terrorist attack on October 7, Israel and Hezbollah have been attacking each other on a daily basis.
According to AFP, 614 people have been killed on the Lebanese side, including 138 civilians. Meanwhile, at least 24 soldiers and 26 civilians have been killed in Israel.
