Three people are sentenced in the Gothenburg district court following a major bribery scandal in western Sweden, reports Byggnadsarbetaren.
A representative of a land company receives three years and six months' imprisonment for having given bribes to individuals with connections to the construction company Peab and the state-owned Svevia. He is convicted of aggravated accounting fraud and aggravated bribery.
A colleague of the representative is also convicted of money laundering. The sentence is two years and six months' imprisonment.
Finally, a site manager at Peab is sentenced to one year and two months' imprisonment for having accepted bribes of nearly 1.2 million kronor, according to Byggnadsarbetaren.
The prosecutor also brought charges against a fourth person, who worked as a consultant for Svevia, but due to the person's health, the case was dropped. However, the person's consulting firm will be fined one million kronor.
