The US government approved on Tuesday that Israel may purchase weapons worth 20 billion dollars, equivalent to approximately 210 billion kronor.
In a message to Congress, the Foreign Ministry stated that it had approved the sale of 50 F-15 fighter jets, tank ammunition, and new military transport vehicles.
The F-15 planes are scheduled to begin delivery in 2029 and will upgrade Israel's current fleet, including radar and secure communication equipment.
There is a theoretical possibility for Congress to stop the sale, but such a process would be very complicated.
