From a Swedish football perspective, the potential Premier League debut of 18-year-old giant talent Lucas Bergvall made the meeting between Leicester and Tottenham extra interesting.

Instead, a 37-year-old veteran and goal-scorer stole the show. Leicester did not create much, but Jamie Vardy only needed one opportunity to find the familiar net at home on King Power Stadium. Vardy's 1-1 equalizer in the 57th minute was Leicester's first shot on goal, now that the club was making a comeback in the Premier League after a one-year stint in the second division.

Tottenham had been clearly better so far and the London team also got a reward in the first half, when Pedro Porro nodded in James Maddison's precise pass after just over half an hour.

But then Vardy struck. Later, he was close to also giving Leicester the lead, but Guglielmo Vicario saved.

Tottenham planned a triple substitution, but it became four changes at once – in the 78th minute – after Rodrigo Bentancur was knocked out and carried out on a stretcher.

In came the Swedes Dejan Kulusevski and Lucas Bergvall, in came Archie Gray and Timo Werner. The changes did not have a greater effect, but Bergvall really does not need to be ashamed of his first league effort in a Tottenham jersey.

"Spurs" got a final chance when Bergvall curled the ball in from the right, but Richarlison nodded outside.
