Venezuela's Attorney General Tarek William Saab announces that he will summon opposition candidate Edmundo González Urrutia as part of an investigation into the opposition's actions after the disputed presidential election in July.
This is so that González Urrutia can "account for his responsibility" for the website where the opposition published election documents that they claim show that they, unlike the official result, won by a wide margin, says Tarek William Saab.
The Attorney General is generally considered an ally of the sitting President Nicolás Maduro, who the government-loyal electoral authority CNE has declared the winner. However, the authority has not yet published a detailed election result.
Both Maduro and the opposition declared themselves winners after the election on July 28 and the unrest that has followed has so far claimed 25 lives. Almost 200 people have been injured and over 2,400 have been arrested.
Maduro's claim to election victory has been questioned by several Latin American countries, the USA, and the EU.
