Wiesner (C) on the opinion: Has been turbulent

The Center Party is going to the election on the slogan "hold the line", but in the current opinion poll it's about holding the barrier. Top candidate Emma Wiesner is not afraid of the polls. It has been a turbulent time for the party, but now voters are starting to see the difference we've made at the EU level, she says.

Center Party is going to the election on the slogan "hold the line," but in the current opinion poll, it's about holding the barrier.

Top candidate Emma Wiesner is not afraid of the polls.

With barely a week to go until the EU election, the Center Party is near the four percent barrier in several opinion polls.

At the previous election, 2019, the party had a successful election with over 10 percent of the votes – but now it risks losing all its seats.

According to a survey from DN/Ipsos conducted in May – Center Party's Emma Wiesner is the top candidate that the most voters say they don't know.

Despite the somewhat uncomfortable situation, Emma Wiesner is optimistic about the upcoming election.

Former party leader Maud Olofsson believes that well-known faces are not all for a successful EU election campaign.

Among the party's most important issues before the election are climate issues, keeping fringe parties in check, and continued support for Ukraine. Maud Olofsson welcomes a focus on major principle issues – not just from her own party.

That a too great focus on abstract issues would be behind the dismal opinion poll is something Emma Wiesner does not agree with.
