A woman in her 40s was taken to hospital after being subjected to a robbery in the Ekhagen area of Jönköping on Wednesday evening.
The woman was alone and attacked at 23.45 by one or more perpetrators.
It was an extremely serious robbery. I don't want to go into what kind of injuries she sustained, they are not life-threatening but she was taken by ambulance to hospital to stop the bleeding. She was not shot, that much I can say, says Kurt Marklund, duty officer at Police Region East.
The police are still withholding details about the robbery.
We don't want to say more since we will be hearing witnesses. But if anyone saw anything, they are welcome to contact 114 14, says Kurt Marklund.
The robber or robbers were unknown to the woman and the police have initiated an investigation into aggravated robbery.
