Two women who are charged with aggravated rape of a woman in Rissne north of Stockholm in May have been released from custody after the trial has ended.
It indicates that they will not be convicted of the primary charge of aggravated rape, says prosecutor Anders Hirsch.
Hirsch, who had requested that the women be sentenced to six years in prison, has in the second instance requested that they be convicted of gross sexual assault and assault.
It was in May that the police were alerted to the address in Rissne, where seven people were arrested suspected of raping the woman.
Five of them, all men, were later released. The two women, both in their 20s, were however detained and have been deprived of their liberty until now.
The verdict will be announced on September 27.
