The Elon Musk-owned platform X is changing its terms and will allow third-party companies to AI-train on posts you have made on the platform. This is reported by the tech site Techcrunch.

According to the site, the changes will take effect in about a month, on November 15. In brief, they mean that X reserves the right to share content you have uploaded to X with third parties. Users will have the option to choose not to share their data, just like for X's own AI service Grok.

X is also changing how long it stores information about you and what you have uploaded to "different lengths of time for different types of information".

The platform, previously known as Twitter, has lost value since Elon Musk took over ownership, including many advertisers leaving. According to Techcrunch, the AI-related changes to the terms are seen as a way for X to earn more money.
